As an award-winning film composer, writing music has and always will be an emotional outlet for her. Aronson also independently releases music under the name “Shortcake.” A one-woman-project, she creates catchy and upbeat music with lugubrious lyrics in an attempt to convey the mind’s veiled reality.
As a visual creative as well, Aronson’s 16mm and digital film work underscores her experience as a young adult amidst a tumultuous time of divisiveness and ignorance. She believes that both the subjectivity and allusiveness of the moving image beautifully enhance the mind’s ability to think beyond the simple. The two analog films she has created capture the world in its raw form.
